 The troublesome Raigne
 2006Hath bard vs of obedience vnto Iohn,
 2007This hatefull murder Lewes his true discent,
 2008The holy charge that wee receiude from Rome,
 2009Are weightie reasons if you like my reede,
 2010To make vs all perseuer in this deede.
 2011Pembrooke My Lord of Essex, well haue you aduisde,
 2012I will accord to further you in this.
 2013Salsbury And Salsbury will not gainsay the same.
 2014But aid that course as far foorth as he can.
 2015Essex Then each of vs send straight to his Allyes.
 2016To winne them to this famous enterprise,
 2017And let vs all yclad in Palmers weede,
 2018The tenth of April at Saint Edmonds Bury
 2019Meete to confer, and on the Altar there
 2020Sweare secrecie and aid to this aduise.
 2021Meane while let vs conueigh this body hence,
 2022And giue him buriall as befits his state,
 2023Keeping his months minde and his obsequies
 2024With solemne intercession for his soule.
 2025How say you Lordings, are you all agreed?
 2026Pembrooke The tenth of Aprill at Saint Edmonds Bury
 2027God letting not, I will not faile the time.
 2028Essex Then let vs all conuey the body hence. Exeunt.

 2030Iohn Disturbed thoughts, foredoomers of mine ill,
 2031Distracted passions, signes of growing harmes,
 2032Strange Prophecies of imminent mishaps,
 2033Confound my wits, and dull my senses so,
 2034That euery obiect these mine eyes behold
 2035Séeme instruments to bring me to my end.
 2036Ascension day is come, Iohn feare not then
 2037The prodigies this pratling Prophet threates.
 2038Tis come indeede: ah were it fully past,
 2039Then were I careles of a thousand feares.
